Tall Ship Race 2010

During August I went to Hartlepool for the finish of the Tall Ship Race. It was a race that started from Norway, then traveled to Denmark and finished at Hartlepool. Here are some of the picture I took on the day. Weather conditions were changing rapidly was lucky to get some great shots. More will follow soon…

Photowalk.30 – RSPB The Lodge

This week’s photowalk was taken at RSPB centre at Sandy. There were quite a few common birds like Blue Tits and Great Tits but managed to get 4 photos of a woodpecker that landed around the feeder.

A local walk acrossed the fields this time for the photowalk. Between 8-9pm and overcast weather.

Fractalius

I have recently discovered a cool Photoshop plugin on Flickr called ‘Fractalius’

You can find the plugin homepage here.

Basically it produces Fractual patterns and acts a filter with an photo you run on it.

Here is an example of what it can do, on the left is the original and on the right is the Fractalius version.

Because I don’t have Photoshop and use GIMP. You can use the GIMP plugin called ‘PSPI’ to load up photoshop plugins into GIMP. Download it here

It is amazing to think that I am now half way through this year long project. This weeks photowalk is around Ringstead Lakes on a nice summers day. If you were wondering where Photowalks 23 and 25 have disappeared to, I have done these photowalks but havn’t made an entry here about them. Photowalk 24 is around the garden once again.

Yet another picture of a rose, really liked the colours in this one. Slight changes in levels and saturation using GIMP.

This week I have kind of cheated in that I havn’t walked on this location I have cycled, but in my mind a photowalk is recording an outdoors journey whatever means of travel I use.
The reason I started cycling is to get fit and cycling can be better for this than walking, so I been told.
Anyway, the location of this photowalk is between Ringstead and Thrapston.
