Another late week for a photowalk. I must admit that I didn’t really go on a photowalk this week because I’ve been so busy lately, but as I did say I was going to do a photowalk every week I felt I needed to do something. Some interesting cloud patterns this evening.

Another difficult week for photography. Went on a local walk and wanted to try out doing another HDR photograph. Composite of 3 images, one -2ev, 0ev, +2ev
Then decided to turn it into a black and white.

A late photowalk this week and only one picture this time. Weather has not been good this weekend. Today I managed to race home from work get my camera and walk upto a local spot where I knew I’d get a good shot of a sunset.
Nearly getting run over by a car on my way I managed to get this shot. Stitched together from 4 photos. I don’t really class this as a sunset because I was just too late but I’m calling it an after sunset picture.

Back at Stanwick Lakes this week. Nice weather, little bit of cloud in the sky but still feels cold out.
Managed to get some great landscape shots and sunset pictures.

This week photowalk was at Odell Country Park. Didn’t have much light on this photowalk and rained towards the end.
Look forward to returning here on a future photowalk in the summer.

My new macro lens has arrived today that I won on ebay.
This will be my dedicated macro lens for taking nice close-up shots of flowers, wildlife etc.
Looking forward to taking some pictures with it soon

This weeks photowalk was at Ringstead Lakes
Nice sunny day, no snow on the ground but still some ice on the lake.

This weeks photowalk was at Stanwick Lakes in Northamptonshire.
Tried out some different photography skills this weeks. One HDR photo and a panoramic photo.

The first photowalk of the year and the start of my new project.
My plan for the year is to do a photowalk every week for the whole of 2010.
The rules are: they have to be outside my house. Limited to 5 pictures a week.

Coming in to Land:
Manage to get a picture just before she landed.

Red Berries:
Like the way the light caught these and wanted a shallow depth of field.

Swan Lake on Ice:
Love this shot, on a part of the lake that’s still frozen. It captures a real sense of the swans concentration on the ice.
Where as she was flapping her wings quite fast at the time.

To celebrate the new year, I decided to do a light painting.

I am not doing new year resolutions but I have set myself a 2 projects.
The first is a 52 Photowalk (taking pictures outdoors once a week for a whole year and recording it here on flickr)

The other is not to do with photography but is very important to me. The past few years I have neglected my music activity. After recent events I hadn’t realized how much I missed playing and was quite an awakening for me.
So my mission is to get back into musical shape (like when I was at uni) and get more involved in playing with groups.
