Android – Top 10 Apps (June 2010)

Since I updated my HTC Hero to the latest version of the Android platform (2.1)

I thought it was about time that I do a review of the top ten applications that I have found and use on a daily basis.

This week I have kind of cheated in that I havn’t walked on this location I have cycled, but in my mind a photowalk is recording an outdoors journey whatever means of travel I use.
The reason I started cycling is to get fit and cycling can be better for this than walking, so I been told.
Anyway, the location of this photowalk is between Ringstead and Thrapston.

Photowalk 18 & 19

I have been a bit behind in keeping my photowalks upto date. The last two photowalks have got a flower theme to them. The first being taken at home and then other at my nan’s home. One of the reasons why I have been delayed is that I accidentally inserted the wrong cable into my camera and ended up bending a very small pin within the camera. Annoying to say the least. So I just bought a Kingston Media Card Reader which I highly recommend to any photographer who like me, connects the camera to the computer, downloads the pictures, works on the photos for a length of time and then finds that the camera is still on and the battery has gone flat… you know who you are ;-)

Anyway, I am hoping to move away from taking photos of flowers because I think I’ve done that to death now for this year and I need to do some different photowalks and keep my interests fresh.

Till the next time,

Photowalk.17

This is a special photowalk this week as I have been on a mini cruise to Spain over this weekend. The photowalk was in Bilbao. It is an amazing city and I recommend visiting.

This is only a small collection of the photos I took over the holiday and I will be posting them up on Flickr once I have sorted and edited them all. Enjoy.

Ubuntu 10.04 Tutorial – How to change titlebar buttons

The final release of Ubuntu 10.04 is just around the corner. I have been using Ubuntu 10.04 since the Alpha 2 testing phase and it is shaping to be a better, faster and easier linux distribution than ever before.

But as the main guys at Canonical has been saying lately. ‘Change is coming’ and they are right. But one change that has really annoyed me and many other Ubuntu users is the decision to change the positioning and and order of the titlebar button (minimise, maximise and close)

When you install Ubuntu 10.04 from scratch you will find that the button are very similar to the Mac OSX.

This post shows you how you can change back to the old way or layout similar to a Windows OS that everyone is familiar with.
